Fergie Jenkins Showcase League, named after the only Canadian baseball player in the MLB Hall of Fame, a recipient of the Order of Canada and only the second living Canadian honoured on a postage stamp was created to showcase talented amateur elite baseball players in order for them to make it to the next level.
Launched in the summer of 2012 the league plays a summer schedule that enables their players the opportunity to gain exposure to Canadian and American Colleges/Universities with the opportunity of playing baseball professionally.
In addition to the summer schedule the league also runs a fall season.
A portion of each team's registration fee is donated to the Fergie Jenkins Foundation which supports a number of charities.
• The summer league will run from May 5 - July 29 ending the season with ploayoffs August 3 - 5.
The Fall League runs from Sept. 1 - October 7
• The league will provide the teams with schedules for the season games.
• Double Header 7 inning games to be played on weekends.
• Playoffs and League Championships will be held.
(Aug.3 - Aug.5)
Teams must finish their regular season games to determine standings.
• A portion of your registration fee will be donated to the Fergie Jenkins Foundation which supports several charities
Team Obligations
• Each team will provide a copy of their insurance
• Each team will provide their team(s) roster by March 1 for (Cut off date May 1st for age requirements)
• Each team is to provide their blackout dates by February 25 prior to the season start date for scheduling
• Each team to provide days teams are available to play
• Each team to provide their address and location of their home fields so directions can be posted on the website
• Teams will be responsible to split umpire fees per game
• Home teams are responsible to book their own fields / umps
• Teams must be available to play make up games to complete their schedule
